Dizzydonor presents...

Sticks + Tones

Saturday 1 October. 10.30pm-1am. $8/6. Pony.

Sticks + Tones is an unpredictable event where boring clichés about sound and music will find no sympathy. Delivering equal parts rigour and finesse, our most intuitive (and cheeky) bring you two sets — with three drummers in each! A unique, exciting adventure.

Players on the night are all active in various bands, and represent the very best of Melbourne’s (and Tasmania’s) musical terrain. They come from fields as diverse as post-punk, folk, free jazz, indie pop, post-rock and experimental electronics, and projects including My Disco!, Winterville, Hi God People, True Radical Miracle, ii, Because of Ghosts, Scissors for Sparrow, Baseball, Oh! Belgium, and Lakes.

There will be no video projections or other distractions; Sticks + Tones is about music, and about listening closely. It aims to draw on players’ strengths, while removing them from their comfort zones. It promises to be an unmissable evening.

Featuring (in alphabetical order): Nadia Combe, Monika Fikerle, Clinton Green, Gabe Lewis, Keith Mason (TAS), Evelyn Morris, Alex Nosek, Jacob Pearce, Rohan Rebeiro, Marcus Skinner, Raquel Solier, Jon Tjhia, Greg Wadley, and Jarrod Zlatic

Hosted by Melbourne Fringe Festival 2005 and Pony. Pony is located at 68 Little Collins St, Melbourne. Pre-sale tickets available from the Melbourne Fringe Box Office.
